I also like having a break from school. Sometimes school gets very stressful and I like a break to collect my thoughts. My family and I didn’t go anywhere over the break. My sister went up to her husband house for Thanksgiving so it was only my mom, dad, and I for Thanksgiving. In the first time ever we went out for dinner for Thanksgiving. I love spending time with my family all the time and it was a nice day. During the break I was able to hang out with some of my friends that I usually can’t hang out with because we are usually very busy during the school week.

The holiday cards were a lot of fun to make. The first design that I made was kind of simple. When I heard that we were making these cards for this class that design came to my mind first. Then the other card I made was a little harder to make because the hair on the dog took a lot of time to get right. The second card is a drawing of a husky with a santa hat on. I always like to have a challenge and the second card was like that. It took me more time to make than the first time. The second card was my favorite card that I made. I liked how it turned out and I love huskies.

I am very glad that people are writing cards to our military. Sometimes forget that some families aren’t all together because they have a family member that is over seas. I just thank them for their service that they are doing for us over the holiday season. I have a family member that is part of the Navy and it sometimes hard on his family when he isn’t  home with his family. He has three younger kids that he is not with sometimes. They are the ones that protect us and we should give them thanks for their services.

The one thing that I’ve learned this week is that when you don’t stretch for a full week and don’t exercise my body starts to become very sore for a whole week. Since I’ve been dancing for 15 years and my body is used to be moving all the time when I take a week off my body hurts a lot. Since I have dance class everyday and I take dance on Wednesday and Thursday it make my body sore so much.   

 Everyone went to someone different and different job. Everyone presentations looked very nice. I liked Ashley’s presentations. She seemed liked she learned a lot. She had many pictures and information that she shared with the class. Also the favorite thing that stuck with me was all the different camera lens that the person she was shadowing had. I think I might want to go to more job shadowing because I liked where I shadowed but it’s not what I really want to do. I might want to job shadow more with a photography or even someone the works with editing video or creating videos.

Compassion/kindness is very important. Sometimes people don’t show it all the time to people who are different to them and when I see that it hurts me to see that. I try to be a person that has compassion/kindness to everyone. AAST seems like they show more compassion/kindness in their school during the day more than other base schools people come from. I have heard people saying that they left their base school because many people didn’t show them compassion/kindness. AAST has many people that show compassion/kindness and it makes people feel good about them when they are treated like this.

I just enter AAST this year and didn’t know the principal that well. She explain why she was leaving and it seems like it was better for her. Since she would be closer to her family and her mother since is ill thats a good thing for her to be there. She seem liked she cared a lot about the school and wishes the best hopes for the school. It’s really sad that I’m seeing her go and move but I know it’s the best for her.

Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays. There are so many things I am thankful for and it can take hours to type it all out. Family. Family is important to me and will always be important. I was adopted from a 3rd world country and if I wasn’t adopted I wouldn’t have the opportunities that I have now. Friends. I had many friends in a out of my life. There are those few in my life that I can trust and get help in any situation from. Life. Life in general. Sometimes life has their ups and downs. Living and living to the fullest is the best gift I can ever had.

My first final hot sauce label was pretty good. I liked how it turn out and I liked how it looked like what I image in my head. One of the critique that I got on my label was that the background where the logo was plain and that the front wasn’t popping out as much as they wanted it to be. I also fix the background of the Ingredients side and made it be able to read better. I added more information about the company on the label. Then my final draft that I fix up turn out better than I thought. I change the background to a dark red to follow into the fire theme that I had for the label. I also change the front of the name of the hot sauce. I change the front to Cheap Fire that I had to download to make the label look better than before. I had a really fun time making this label and I learn a lot more things when doing this project.

My first quarter grades were all A’s. I don’t think there is anything that I have to improve on. I could have gotten my grades higher but I try my best and I got the grades. I am proud of myself and my parents are proud of me so I am happy.

Photoshop is my best friend. I love using photoshop. I had photoshop on my own personal computer and I always used it. I am so excited to learn so much more about photoshop and all the different tools in the program. Since I am starting to get more into photography this program would help me become better at taking pictures and editing them.

The SCAD presentation was amazing. When I first hear about the school and started to do some research on the school I started to fall in love the school. That would be my dream school to get into for college. I believe for what I want to do that school would help me out a lot. The girl who came from SCAD was so nice and seem so excited to talk about the school. The videos that she showed us was very informational about each location.

The job shadowing was a lot of fun. I shadowed with Ana and she was very nice and very informational. I also sat with one of her graphic designer that are under her. His name was Daniel. Daniel showed me around the factory and he showed the different project that he was working on. When I was there Ana got a order for a shirt and the logo that they sent to her was pixelated. So Ana told Daniel to show me how they would fix or remake the logo that it would be useable for the shirts that they wanted. When he was showing me I was remembering how we were doing something so similar with the OBM school logo. When I was watching and I was thinking to myself is that something that I could have done when we were working on the logo. I had a lot of fun and I enjoy everything that they were doing.  

The Hot Sauce Bottle design process was a lot of fun and stressful at the same time. Thumbnails were hard to make because I had two ideas but I had to have five thumbnails. It took me while to figure it out but I finally able to come up with five. The rough drafts were a lot of fun to do because I actually able to start to see the design come together. The barcode was the hardest to do and figure it out. For my final draft I made a lot of changes and added more details to my label. I really proud of myself of how it came out.

AAST Spirit Week was a lot of fun. I love that a lot of people dressed up. Monday I didn’t do a lot for that day. I just wore my USA shirt. Tuesday I twin with one of my friends and we dressed up as a Frat Boy. Tuesday was my favorite day. Wednesday was character day and I was Veronica Lodge from the Tv show Riverdale. My other two friends dressed up as characters from the same tv show. Thursday I dressed in a 70s dress. Friday was college and I wore Villanova shirt and hat. The Fall Festival was a lot of fun. I was there for a while after school to help with the car and the games. I left for an hour because I had to go to dance. When I return the Festival had started and there were many people there. I love see everyone in a costume and everyone socializing. It was cold but I enjoy it a lot.

History is my first block and I am very proud of myself of how good I am doing in there. History is one of my favorite subject. My second block is dance. I love that class because that’s not as stressful as my other classes. My third and fourth is my major. We have been learning Illustrator and I learning so many new things. At first I didn’t like Illustrator because I knew how to work Photoshop more but now I am starting to like it a lot. 

I liked that we were able to watch the videos and work with them. It was easier to know what I am doing and also to see each step before I did it. Chapter 14 was working with the brushes. I liked how you can use the brush tool to make a boarder. There are so many things you can do and make with the brush tool. Chapter 15 was using the text tool. My favorite thing about the text tool is that you can draw a shape and then use the text on path tool. The text would take the shape of the shape that you have made. Chapter 16 was advanced drawing and add a logo on different supplies that is seen in an office.

The USC campus was so pretty. The tour was done really fast and since there was a lot of people there so it was hard to hear everything. I thought everything there was pretty and nice. When I was there it wasn’t the school I want to go to. Everyone there seems very talented.

Start Fair Art Show was amazing. I never been to an art show before and my experience was great. I was excited to see all my classmates work that got in. I was happy that my art piece got in. I love looking at all the art and photography that was there. I thought it was really cool. State Fair was a lot of fun too. I did a lot of the rides there and went to the petting zoo they had there. I saw cows, chicken, and camels. I was able to get great pictures and all of the rides I went on were amazing.

I am entering in Wake Up Carolina. I am doing two posters and one is for high school level and the other one is for the college level. When I first heard about this project I knew I wanted to do. This is a big subject that needs to be taught to many people. The two posters that I am making have a little backstory on them. I am proud of myself that I can be able to make a poster for this major subject. 

Chapter 11 was a lot of fun to learn about because of how you can blend any object with each other and how we can add different blends to drawings and pictures. Chapter 12 was using the symbols. We learned how to use them and to add them to your symbol library. Being able to use the symbols can help you make a border or add finishing touches on a project that you are doing. Chapter 13 was a lot of fun to use and learn the different techniques that you can use. We had to trace a pencil picture because the picture was so pixelated that I was able to trace it and added the colors. It would be similar and have the right pixels in the picture.

The OMB Logo is very hard and tedious work. Tracing the logo was very hard and getting it just right was even harder. Tracing took a long time. The logo has a lot of straight and curves lines. I had each tracing in different layers. Before I put the live paint on the logo I group all the lines together. The live paint was easy to use with the logo but the one part that I haven’t done yet was the shadowing and the bold lettering. I am going to try to get the logo done today. 

The door decorating I would be getting the LED light to be going around the door frame. They would most likely be a rope type of an LED light. I haven’t decided if I want the lights to change colors. I am also helping putting some handprints on the door with paint. 

My other classes is US History and Dance. US history is one of my favorite classes to be in. I always liked history but this year is one of my favorite subject. My teacher is funny and a good teacher. I am also doing very well in the class so I’m happy about that. My 2nd block is dance and I am liking it a lot. I am happy that I have a class that I am able to stretch and get some exercises. I love my two other class and I love my teachers for both of them.     

Illustrator is difficult to use in the first place and some of the things I knew before I read these chapters but reading them helped my understand how to use the tool better and faster.  Chapter 6 was a lot to learn because even before we we went into this chapter I knew how to make a logo but I learn how to use the tools a faster way. Chapter 7 was hard to understand from the book. When I watch the video it helped me to understand more. Chapter 8 I had a lot of fun playing with the spiral tool. My favorite thing is that the spirals that I was making looked like shells that were part of a snail. Chapter 9 we were using the Live paint and it was a lot of fun to learn how you can use that tools easier to color it in with the paint brush. Chapter 10 was easy to me because I knew how to use the tools already.

There is a lot of things that I am learning about Illustrator and my favorite thing about Illustrator that I am doing on my own free time is drawing different thing and adding color or just leaving it black and white.

 I really enjoy doing Chapter 9 with the live paint. I drew a penguin and use the live paint to color it in. I don’t know if it’s the coolest thing I’ve made but I believe it was the coolest thing to learn and do. I also enjoy doing the tutorial. I made a fox and that was a lot of fun to do. I learn a lot from doing that and I learn faster ways to be able to make the product come out better.

 There are some ideas for the door but I don’t know if they are good enough to make the door look great.  We could put a reef on the door that is pink and have some of the ribbons hanging on the reef. We can also hang up paper to cover the door with pink paper and right couraging words on it.

The first five chapters of the Illustrator Book was informational and I knew some of the information that was in the book. Even though I knew something I also learned some of the shortcuts that can access different tools. I also really enjoy doing the small activities that were at the end of each chapter.

I used two tutorials for this activity. The first tutorial that I used was to make a fox. This tutorial was very detailed and were pretty easy to follow. There were a few steps that I had to start over couple of times because I didn’t understand it at first. The second tutorial that I used was to make an owl. This one was easier to follow. I was made to make the owl in less time than the fox.  I usually don’t use tutorials that much because I am the kind of person that want to figure out on my own.

The few things that I learned in Illustrator that I didn’t know before that was all the shortcuts that can be used to get to the tools you need. I also didn’t know that I would be able to make different picture of a fox or even an owl this quickly.

This was the first time I ever done something like this. I have taken some picture but not to creative. So I thought it would be a fun experiences to do something creative and fun for the State Fair Art Show. In my head I had this idea that I wanted to use paint in the photo. I also wants it to put it all over someone face and body. So I asked my boyfriend, Cameron, if he would help me. My idea was to make hand prints but when I was painting he was flipping to dry the paint and he rub the paint together and it looked cool. So I rub the paint all of the his body and the paintbrush the last touch in the photo that made it.

Yes, I would enter in the contest because it would look good on my college applications. It would also help me be able to become a better photographer and how to edit the photos. It would also make me be able to connect with my creative side. I never thought I can come up with creative thing but doing this more and more it would help me.

My family and I went to Charlotte for the weekend and we visit my sister that lives up there. We also brought my puppy with us too. We arrived Friday night and we went out to dinner with my sister and her husband. Saturday we just laid around most of the day and later that day we took a drive to a new neighborhood that my dad might work in. We also took this hiking trail to a lake and we took some pictures there as a family. After that we went out to dinner. Sunday morning we drove back to Myrtle Beach. It was a lazy but it was an eventful weekend.

I love making boards that I can go to and see different ideas for that certain subjects. I can also search the smallest subject and it would have ideas for that subject. I love that I have a website that I can go to and see different ideas and creative things that people can come up with.  

My first impression of Illustrator was that I liked it but it’s not my favorite adobe project that I used. It fun to use for different drawings and to make different things but there are a few things that you can’t do on it that others can do. I would still use it a lot because I do like drawing and making different things like posters and logos.

The first time I experiment all the tool that I can use on the software and I drew a husky. I used the paint brush and during the drawing I change the thickness of the brush. Then the second time I explored tracing and I took it on an easier routine by tracing a monkey. It was fun learning how to work the layers and the pen to trace it.

If I can create anything I can on Illustrator would be a poster, invitations, or banners. I think it would be fun to create those things and see people use your design. I already made an invitation for my sister two bridals showers and I also made a logo for my aunt business.  

 I was pretty nervous presenting in front of everyone. I am very shy and I don’t like talking in front of people that much. The slideshow as it’s self was pretty good. There are a few things that I had to work on. I was able to show what motion graphics design was through my slides. I used different backgrounds, added pictures, and I also added a few videos. When I was presenting I felt nervous and I believe that other people can see that I was nervous. I know that I need to work on presenting in front of people more and be able to feel comfortable talking in front of people. Overall I have a few things to work on.

 I had many presentation that I liked for different reasons. I think my favorite one was the landscape photography. The slideshow was very informational and I learn some new things about it. I never knew that to get a better picture of an landscape or any picture you should take it an hour or two after sunrise and an hour or two before sunset. The person who present that presentation knew a lot about the project and he seem confident talking about it.

 I was nervous the first couple of days at AAST because I was going back to the whole waking up and going to school. The first two years of high school I was doing online schooling. So I didn’t know if I was going to see anyone I knew and what teacher I would have. After I got passed all of the nervousness my first impressions of AAST is that I enjoy coming to a school and able to learn new things. I am very excited for the rest of the school year.

My first impressions about DC was that I am in a major that would help me learn more things about stuff I love so much. I also liked how we can put our own taste on our work that we have in the class. I am very excited that I am going to learn more about all adobe’s programs. I am excited on how we are going to learn so much and learn the different talents that I don’t know I have.

The career assignment was very interesting and I wasn’t to surprised on what I got but I was surprised I got nothing similar to what I wanted. The only thing that was really close to what I wanted was film and video editing. I looked at it and saw what was part of the job and it looked very interesting. I also got a social worker and I am not to surprised because I love working with kids and other people. It was really cool taking the different test and see the results from the assignments.
